Chemical oxygen demand (COD) refers to the mass concentration of oxidant consumed in the oxidation of organic substances and inorganic reducing substances in water sample with strong oxidant under certain conditions. COD reflects the degree of water polluted by organic substances and inorganic reducing substances.
It has the functions of controlling the water sample collection automatically, digestion and oxidation, reaction measurement, data processing and data transmission, which can finish the whole process of COD analysis of wastewater fast, continuously and automatically.
It is designed according to oxidation principle of potassium dichromate. Add a known potassium dichromate solution into the sample, the strong sulfuric acid as the medium, the silver sulfate as the catalyst, and after high temperature digestion, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) can be colorimetrically determined by spectrophotometric method.
