HK-3140WSA Karl-Fisher Water Content Tester is desighed and manufactured based on GB/T 7600-2014 Determination of water content in transformer oils and turbine oils in service by coulometric method, and according to Karl fischer coulomb method to test the oil. Its principle is that: Iodine can be reduced by sulfur dioxide in water. In the process of electrolysis, the produced iodine reacts with the water in the test oil to produce hydroiodate until all the water is reacted. The ending point of the reaction will be indicated by a detection unit composed of a pair of platinum electrodes. During the whole process, sulfur dioxide is consumed, which is equal to the number of moles of water. According to Faraday's law of electrolysis, the amount of electricity used in electrolysis is directly proportional to the amount of iodine, that is, to electrolyze 1mol of iodine consumes 1mol of water and requires twice the amount of 96, 493C electricity. So the water mass in the sample can be calculated according to the electrolytic electricity in the whole process, The instrument adopts colorful LED touch screen display, Chinese and English menu optional, friendly display interface, which has the easy operation, rapid response and accurate measurement characteristics.
